Biography

Presented by Nova Casework

“Marina Crouse is an exceptional singer. Her album Never Too Soon is an eclectic mix of soul and blues. It is a mix of English and Spanish. It is American music…California style and it is simply a great album.” – Blues Junction

Marina Crouse is a Bay Area Blues and Soul singer-songwriter whose lush and distinctive voice captivates audiences wherever she performs. Her broad vocal range and unique ability to wholly immerse herself in the music and lyric connect her intimately with the audience and create an emotional authenticity that consistently cuts deep. Whether performing blues, funk, soul, or her own originals, Marina takes the crowd on a candid and soulful journey.

Her debut album Never Too Soon, recently released on the Little Village Foundation label, is a sincere and personal exploration of the music that has informed and continues to influence her work; it is an unexpected intersection of soul, blues, funk and New Orleans R&B, with a heavy nod to her Chicana heritage.

MARINA is backed on her WBF debut by some of the region’s blues all-stars: BEN RICE on guitar, DAVE MELYAN on drums, DAVE FLESCHNER keys and MELANIE OWEN bass.
