Norman Sylvester All-Star Review

A Tribute to the memories of Jim Mesi, Lloyd Allen & Chata Addy

Oregon Music Hall of Fame member Norman “Boogie Cat” Sylvester and his band will feature Steve Bradley and Doug Rowell in a tribute performance to “The Italian Chainsaw,” Jim Mesi, as one of our local blues pioneers.

They will also have “Legendary Back-porch Blues” star Sheila Wilcoxson, Norman’s soulful vocalist daughter Lenanne Miller and the dynamic horn section of Renato Caranto & Peter Moss. The band will play their respects to an Albina area blues legend, Lloyd Allen, performing one of his original songs. African Drummer OB Addy will perform “Redemption Time” with the band to honor Master Drummer Chata Addy, who worked in the schools with Norman to teach the origins of American Music and the journey of the Blues.

This will be a Boogie Cat style Blues Party while remembering some of our friends and musicians that joined Heaven’s band this year.
